It’s that time of year again! With the generous support of Food Depot, we are again supporting the efforts of Dr Denise Faustman at Massachusetts General Hospital. We are excited to announce that The Faustman Lab received FDA approval in June to start the Phase II clinical trial and is currently enrolling and treating patients. The Faustman Lab’s Phase II clinical trials will test the ability of the BCG vaccine to reverse advance type 1 diabetes.

Starting the Phase II trial is a major milestone, but also creates an enormous challenge. The lab only has one year to enroll all 150 patients in the clinical trial and is working full time to meet this challenge. Currently, they have raised over $19M for the Phase II clinical trial. In 2016, we want to help them realize their ambitious goal of $25M raised for Phase II, which will complete the fundraising for this trial. This means it is vital that we finish 2015 as strongly as possible. Please visit your local Food Depot and make a donation.
